Port Kembla SC to Host the 2026-27 Castle National Championships
Published Wed 01 Apr 2026
The CYAA National Championships are to be held at Port Kembla Sailing Club on Lake Illawarra 13-15 November, 2026.
With 19 Castle 650's competing in the inaugrual event at Canberra Yacht Club the CYAA is anticipating a bumper turnout at the well located Port Kembla SC. A short road trip from the key locations of Newcastle and Canberra, and a manageable one from Melbourne a crowd of over 20 boats would be excellent. (and yes, we all hope fuel prices drop before then!)
Camping will be available either on boats or on the club lawn with facilities open 24hrs for visiting skippers and crew.
The PKSC volunteers will be ensuring the canteen is stocked and meals will be available from the club, there is also a fish and chip shop 100m away.
The race courses will be a combination of Windward/Leeward, Triangle, and passage style. The racing schedule will be:
Friday 13 Nov: PM Racing
Saturday 14 Nov: AM & PM Racing
Sunday 15 Nov: AM and early PM Racing
More information will be published as it becomes available to the CYAA Webiste 2026-27 National Championships Page.
